Isn’t It Ironic?

by on Mar.13, 2009, under Personal

Twenty years of my life was spent in an urban place I call city. I witnessed each year new establishments are build for new businesses.  Big malls are everywhere in the city.  Whether you live downtown or uptown there’s a mall nearby.  A sign of progress and development for our city.  That makes our city more traffic and more pollution.

The place where I lived in my  bachelor days where urbanization was far from reality was so peaceful.  A typical and a conducive place for families raising children in an almost zero motor vehicle traffic. Where kids can enjoy running and playing anytime they like.  Not much pollution then…but to this present day everything was changed. Even the lifestyle of the people was changed.  The main road of our place was used as detour to get to the airport.  Now all VIP’s from other places passes by our house.  Even our president happen to pass by there when She comes to the city.  The villagers are now business oriented.  The great change did happen. Isn’t it ironic?  The once quiet and peaceful village now a semi urbanized area.  Few meters away from our place already has a McDonald’s food chain.

The change affects me a lot.  Specially you’ve grown and  known the place all your life.  The streess brought by the noise and pollution makes you wanna go out and leave the noisy and polluted place. Makes me check on Outer Banks rentals for places you can rent for a while and savor the calm and the cold breeze of the place you chose to rent. In this site you can choose on their long list of places where you want to stay. Oh, makes me wanna try  one of  those someday.

As of now where I have my own family, maybe we’ll just enjoy our NPA (No Permanent Address) status. :)
