Gold Pixels

by on Jul.09, 2009, under Personal, Weekend Snapshot

The Mining and Logging project that I was talking about is about to commence. Yesterday we went to the site and gathered the Native Manobo’s to inform them that the project will start soon. They were so excited and happy. It means a food in their table, education for their children and maybe a  wrinkle cream. :) This has been a joint collaboration of the Tribal Community and Mr. Frank Hoekstra from Holland. The Manobo tribe in that area are so lucky to find a good man who has a heart for their children and their future.

It was a long day for me yesterday. We have to make a 15 minute motorcycle ride to reach the area. No, it wasn’t that easy at all. If the road is made of concrete or asphalt, it would only take 10 minutes or less. The road to lead to the area is so rough and full of slopes that you have to get off from the motorcycle and walk the unpassable road. As we arrived there, we then proceeded to our task which is to conduct interview to the interested applicants for the job needed. Some truck drivers and helpers, people for the mining, for the nursery in reforestation, and many more. They were so happy. That makes me happy too. You know why. :)

Soon Mr. Frank will release a portion of the allocated budget to kick start the project. I am excited of my new job too. That makes Carol and I will working for the company. Imagine how many people will be blessed because of Mr. Frank who undoubtedly put his trust over them. We are one of those lucky people.

No Time To Blog?

by on Jun.16, 2009, under Personal, Tech Gadget, Weekend Snapshot

It’s not that I have nothing to blog about…

NO TIME to blog….

I got hooked by our new source of moolah. :) I am just glad that we have this opportunity. This means a plus allowance to our daily needs. In short, a big  blessing! Honestly we do not live like wealthy people does. We have to get down to it and play harder just to get through the day.

Since I didn’t post anything the past days, I just dropped entrecards.  I am targeting 300 ecs a day to get a feeling of satisfaction. Still couldn’t do it because our ISP is having a hard time distributing their unsatisfactory “fast internet connection”.  It’s like 5 days now we are  suffering from a slow internet connection. Anyway, I have been thinking about rv a lot lately. If we only live in the US, it is great to have one for camping. But since we are here in this part of the world, a tent will do. We will be having three when the boxes arrive. :-)

Weekend Snapshot: Santo Niño for Bohol Fiesta

sto-nino-bohol-fiesta

This weeks late entry for Weekend Snapshot is a statue of Santo Niño well kept in a sack bag.  I took this shot in Tagum overland terminal two weeks ago. The owner of this is going to Bohol to attend and celebrate their annual fiesta there. Filipinos are fond of celebrating fiestas.

Weekend Snapshot: Philippine Flag

Last Wednesday we went to the Health Center for Eman’s immunization. We were one of the early birds who arrived there and greeted by this guy sleeping on the lobby of the building with the Philippine flag on top of his head.

There’s nothing I can say. Only people who served the country deserves a flag on top of their coffins. This guy did served the country by spending his night “guarding” the Health Center.  Such a good spot for sleeping. :) Definitely he doesn’t need a phentermine diet pill. From his looks on the photo, he’s now thinking where he’ll get his breakfast. :)
