I’m Brave!
by Donald on May.18, 2009, under Personal
He now weighs six and a half kilos since Wednesday last week.
He was indeed ‘brave’ enough to take the shots of his Hepatitis 2 and BCG vaccines in the Health Center last Wednesday. He was hurt and crying because I think the needles they used should be for the adult ones. The needles might be too big for Eman. Still ‘brave’ enough and managed the pain by crying. *lol*
BTW, heard the wife again complaining that most of her clothes won’t fit her anymore.
Though I still find her sexy and beautiful inspite the weight she gained. It is because of that little guy in the picture above. Maybe fat burner pills could help her reduce some weight. Nah, I don’t think so. I like her the way she looks now.
Oh, excuse Ella for misbehaving.
Life is short, so play hard (under the rain)
by Donald on Apr.17, 2009, under Personal
It rained today. Which also means Ella and I had fun playing and running under the pouring rain of course accompanied by her favorite friend Charlie. It is a nice feeling to feel like a child again. Maybe Ella and Charlie are wondering why I joined them. While enjoying the rain we strolled and went to the cemetery just a few meters away from our house. We had fun reading names there and guessing how young or old is the dead lying there. We brought with us her bicycle which the three of us takes turn riding it. Imagine me riding it.
A bicycle for kids only. I posted a picture of her bike on my older posts here. You can tell how small really it is for a grown up like me. I don’t really know what came in to my mind. What matter is that Ella will always remember this of moments of her life. I know she had so much fun playing under the rain this afternoon. Soon, few years from now, Eman will join us.
I just forgot to take pictures.
Speaking of pictures, I’d like to show you some of Ella’s innocent (and artistic?) shots. Maybe she’s influenced by my SIL’s hobby on photography. If you could give a good explanation and understanding of what this photo is all about please feel free to comment.

Now that we had spent the afternoon playing under the rain, might want to check on Blue Cross NC where they have health plans insurance. We learned our lesson when we did not update our PhilHealth Insurance that could have been of great help on paying our hospital bill when Carol delivered our little fellow Eman.
There will be more of Ella’s photgraphy on my coming posts…
Congratulations Ella!

Dead banana tree
by Donald on Mar.15, 2009, under Personal
A sigh of relief from all worries we had back there in the city. Carol’s condition now is stable except for the pain on her thighs, which gives her difficulty while walking. I tease her walking like a penguin.
(peace partz!) Everything is ready and we are just waiting for the big day.
Yipey!!! Glad were home now! I missed my bed actually. When we were in SIL’s place, I get to sleep on the bed without foam on it. That gives me a sore back in the morning .:( Cannot complain.
BUT we had a great time staying there. We get to go out together with Carol’s sisters and BIL. That is what I will miss, when we go out and have dinner together. Anyway were home now and everything is still in order except for the much grown and taller weeds at the back of the house and my beloved and newly planted banana died. I do not know what happened. A church member said maybe it’s because it was sprayed with weed exterminator. Some church members came here to spray on the weeds around the chapel and it so happen it was planted near the chapel. That banana was given to me by my father last December and it was him who dug it out from the mother tree. He was already feeling the pains from his cancer that time and he still insist on digging out that banana seedling for me to grow here in Trento. So sad.
Glad there are two of them so I still have one more left. Hope it was not infected with that weed exterminator chemical. That banana is my remembrance of my father.
Maybe that is all for now. Have to wake up early for Ella needs to go to school tomorrow. It has been like 3 weeks of Ella being absent from her class. I already talked to the teacher and thanked her for understanding our situation. She will graduate from kindergarten the teacher said even if she has many absences. Well, that is Ella’s wish and wish granted!
Violent games not allowed
by Donald on Dec.01, 2008, under Personal
Ella and I are fond of playing pc games. From racing cars to building your farm this we cannot miss. We even spark a fight when the other one is not getting fair time for playing which I usually wins. That leaves Ella crying. Bad daddy. I am not really a fan of this game but I saw Ella playing this game on SIL’s pc when we were in Davao. She called me to teach her how to play it but as what I said I don’t like this game. That leaves Ella explore the game herself. Then moments later shes screaming that she killed an enemy which is actualy her team mate. At least she knows how the game is played.
Where home now, and Ella is asking me to get that game and download it to our computer. Who can’t resist the charm of a child with a very polite way of convincing me to download it. Today I found one torrent link in www.piratebay.org. A link to download the Counter Strike game. After the long wait because we have a very “fast ISP” in the province with only 250 kbps speed finally We succesfullly downloaded it. Unzipped the file and installed the game we are good to go to play the game when suddenly, “bawal ang ganyan na laro dito ha” ! It’s Carol. We can’t play that game here…Ella and I are starting to enjoy the game of “killing”. She even coached me that it is a war game and why am I hiding and not attacking the enemy. But the latter phrase was heard again. That’s a violent game and that is not good for Ella–which is right of course. Well, there is nothing we can do but to stop what we are doing. Carol won.
As a parent we sometimes forget the good values we must teach our children. I admit I got carried away by that game. Thanks to my partner who’s always there to remind me. As to Ella, she went back playing Dora.
The favorite “apo”
by Donald on Nov.05, 2008, under Personal
“Hello neng, kumusta ka naman? Halika karga muna tayo bago ako punta ng skul”. I can still hear those words my MIL always say . She always get to bond with her granddaughter every time she comes home for lunch. Well she’s a teacher and lunch time is also a time to bond with Ella. I saw how she really loves her only grand daughter. But because of cancer our Lord took her from us. She died 2 years ago. We are all saddened of the great loss. For me she’s the greatest mother-in-law. From the first day I saw her till her last breath I didn’t hear harsh words she said to me. Even when she was in the hospital in Manila she greeted me on my birthday. Never heard her raise her voice on her daughters. She was a great example of patience. I learned a lot from her. That’s my mother-in-law. Now she’s with the Lord now. Someday we’ll meet again.
Here’s a photo of Ella and Mamang Eling’s grave. This was taken when we went home to “our” hometown.
