We are ready! For what? For another hospital admission. Now we don’t have to worry on hospital bills for we already have our PhilHealth insurance and I was able pay the previous quarter and promise to religiously put it as top priority on our monthly bills. We’ve learned our lesson hard. Though we are not covered by all expenses in the hospital but still it is of great help reduce our bill in the end.

I’m just glad that PhilHealth is available to everybody. It is cheap for 100 pesos a month you can still get reasonable life cover. Unlike other life insurance policy where factors such as your lifestyle, debt and dependents all play a major role. The question there is if you have the ability to pay the policy which is much expensive than what we have the PhilHealth Card.

“Aanhin pa ang damo kung patay na ang kabayo”. This is the famous phrase I hear during the noon time show Wowowee. Everyday they must have a motto to say and whoever gets the best motto of the day gets a special prize. In my own translation  in English it says something like what are the grasses for when the horse is dead.

For what are the best things in life when you are concealed with illnesses. You do have a lot of nice things in life and yet cannot enjoy it because of a sickness that hinders you. Few months ago Eman was in and out in the hospital. We were drained financially because hospitalization here in our country is very expensive. We are in debts up to now and still trying to recover from it. I just realize what my father is telling me. “Update your medicare”. I am a member of PHILHealth Insurance Company and been  delinquent in paying quarterly obligation. Well, I said to myself that only a little percentage of the total bill they can cover. Not like insurance company in the United States they have outstanding quality of service. Far from ours here every year we hear Insurance company closing out because of bankruptcy. Blue Cross Blue Shield NC is one of the United States best. If only we can afford it I would not have any doubts in getting it. To date, Eman is now healthy as should be. The family is healthy I think. Still I will get them health insurance because we cannot predict the time of what will become of the future. If only our financial status would allow us why not.
